We now offer accommodation in 2 units, the ground floor is graded with "3 stars" and has 1 single bedroom and 2 twin bedrooms and a popular cosy fully equipped kitchen/living room. The 2nd unit is graded with "4 stars" and has larger private bedrooms with sinks: 2 single, 1 twin, and 2 triple/family rooms.

There is a spacious fully equipped kitchen with dining and sitting room area. Our hostel is centrally situated near all amenities and is the ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside as there are many sites of archaeological and historic interest within walking and cycling distance.

Easy, central, locations: The front of the hostel and main street in Stromness. Just walk 3 minutes from the bus stop or the ferry terminal and you’ll be at Brown’s Hostel.

Directions: Take the bus or train from Inverness to Thurso, bus to Scrabster pier, boat to Stromness. From ferry terminal, turn left along piers which takes you onto the street and we are just a short distance along, being the building before and next to the Royal Hotel.
